Get Into Teaching
Thinking about becoming a teacher? You’re in the right place.
We’re here to help you choose the route that’s right for you and support you every step of the way.
What Routes Into Teaching Are Available?
Most of our courses lead to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and offer the opportunity to gain a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with Master’s credits. This opens up broader career options, including the chance to teach abroad.
Thinking about training to teach?
Use the ‘training to teach decision chart’ below to explore and compare your options at a glance. It’s designed to help you make an informed choice about the best path into teaching for you.
How to Choose the Right Course for You
1. Select your age range.
Would you prefer to teach in the Early Years (3–7) or Primary (5–11) phase?
2. Add a PGCE?
The PGCE adds academic depth and improves career flexibility — especially if you want to work internationally or in leadership roles later on.
3. Full-time or part-time?
Part-time options (minimum 2.5 days per week) are designed around your availability and still include the PGCE, which is completed in the first two terms.
4. Fee-paying or salaried?
We offer a small number of salaried and apprenticeship places. These follow the same programme and lead to the same qualification as fee-paying routes, but are in high demand.
If you don’t secure a salaried place, high-quality applicants are automatically offered a fee-paying place instead.
💡 All fee-paying courses are eligible for student loans and financial support.

Can I Specialise?
Yes, we offer dedicated specialist routes in the following areas:
- SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities)
- PE (Physical Education)
- Behaviour
These tracks provide targeted training that can help you meet the needs of specific learners and enhance your future career prospects.
Already Teaching? Try Our Assessment Only Route
Suppose you’re already in a teaching role with full responsibility for planning, teaching, and assessment and have been doing so for around two years. In that case, you may not require additional training to gain QTS.
Our Assessment Only Route could be ideal.
